recording tools
Like most players these days, I'm using my PC to record my tunes on. I'm very
happy with Cubase SX3, EZ Drummer and a multitude of plugins. Mic wise, I'm
using the Audix i5 and Shure SM57 on the guitar cabs and an Octava MK-319
for acoustics.
Currently in my Rack:
-
Top: Rocktron SuperC. Helps keep the ugly noise out.
-
First: Lexicon MX200. A nice sounding unit I
se for some minor reverb and delays.
-
Second: BBE 362 Sonic Maximizer. Add's clarity
and definition to everything.
-
Third: Furman Power Conditioner. Protecting my gear!
-
Fourth: Peavey 6505+ 120 watt head. The 6505 Plus
features six 12AX7 preamp tubes and four 6L6GC power amp tubes.
-
Fith: 1987 Marshall JCM800 (2205) with green tolex!
An amazing amp, if you don't know 'bout it (shame on ya), I won't bother.
-
Desktop First: Studio Projects VTB-1 Mic preamp. Amazing
bang for buck quality packed into this piece, the pound for pound best
single channel tube/blend mic pre in its price class.
-
Desktop Second: ART DI/O Stereo Tube preamp. Makes for
a handy little bass DI.
-
Desktop Bottom: AB Pro Series power amp. I'm using
this to push the reference monitors.
